F.U.N.'s Fifth

For
the Fifth birthday we have dance music legends Shut Up And Dance. An
act that has been instrumental in constantly pushing dance music forward
for the last ten years. The Shut Up and Dance label was set up in 1989
by PJ and Smiley, initially the label just released their own material
but then went on to release tunes from artists such as the Ragga Twins
and Peter Bouncer. In 1992 SUAD had major success with ’Raving I’m Raving’
which Reached No2 in the charts. Now SUAD have gone back to basics,
the musical direction is still innovative and constantly pushing boundaries.
When not producing themselves or current signings ‘Holy Moses’ and Splintaa,
SUAD can be found remixing many acts such as Buckfunk 3000, Red Snapper,
Headrillaz and Coldcut. PJ and Smiley DJ around the UK and regularly
travel abroad. They have a brand new album due for release in October
of this year that will put them firmly back in the public eye. SUAD
have recently completed the theme and titles for the new look Partyzone
on MTV Their last single ‘Got em ‘Locked’ went to no4 in the charts
and there current single ‘Psyhcojump’ went into the DJ Bigbeat Chart
at No7.
