To kick off the album promo we’ve got a brand new single ‘Once Upon A Time (In Jamaica)’ which is the first to be taken from the album, and by all intents it’s a winner, but you don’t need me telling you this, here’s a quick run down of the track by Dread main man Greg Dread:

‘Once Upon A Time In Jamaica is a respectful and timely story about how the small island of Jamaica has brought so much to the world of modern music. It spins a tale through ska, rocksteady, dub and ragga all underpinned by crisp modern beats and one of the best basslines to come out of the House of Dread’

Featuring reggae legend Earl 16 on vocals and some great remixes from Dreadzone themselves who drop their ‘King @ the Controls’ mix geared solely towards the dancefloor and ‘Brother Bud’ who drops a killer mix and to finish the package off there is also the ragga tinged Mafiatone mix (CD Only)
All three mixes are available with a radio edit of the original on Functional’s first CD single with release with ‘King @ the Controls’ and ‘Brothers Bud’ mix available on vinyl.
