THE CRITICAL PATH TOUR
TIPPER & FREQ NASTY

Two of the UKs top breakbeat DJs Tipper and FreQ Nasty on the same night will take some topping. Playing a handfull of dates around Europe to promote the new Tipper album The Critical Path Dave Tipper first discovered the joys of making music during his teenage years playing on his brothers’ decks. At first he was a bit of a jungle boy producing his first couple of tracks for the Rugged Vinyl label.

Later Dave met Richard Warren and together they set up Fuel Records, home to the deeper, darker side of nu skool breakz. Dave now owns two cars that would better be described as monsters of four-wheeled machines: sleek, freshly sprayed, black Dodge Challengers. Twiddle the knob on the dashboard and, out of the boot, on steel, hydraulic arms rises one massive speaker, where the back seat would usually be are rows of superwoofer bass speakers. Which emit 155 decibels each. One of the cars will be bringing the boys down to Exeter keep your ears open on Wednesday youy might just hear it!!

FreQ. Nasty burst onto the early new school breakbeat scene with his debut single “Boomin Back Atcha” on Botchit and Scraper in ’97. His style incorporates the bone shaking Bass n Breaks from His early days with original jungle/drum & Bass label Sour, thru to the funk and hip hop from his days with proto B&S outfit “Native Bass” all combined with deep electro styling to create the distinctive breakbeat sound of ’99. His debut album has just been released to rave reviews showing like Tipper there is a lot more to the breaks scene than just packed dance floors
