ROWLAND THE BASTARD
'Out of Control' /' RXG30' (FU2) So has anyone in America actually seen Rowland? He's partly invisible when viewed in the correct lighting so I'm told. And he's been over in USA for a month and a half recently, probably trying to start up microwaves and throw forklift trucks through windows. Watch out for new label FU2 as it is going to showcase some of the best Techno and trance emanating from the South of England and London, starting with the devils spawn himself. 'Out of Control' is typical Bastard acid trance that builds in to a thumping monster with eerie vocal samples laid over, whereas 'RXG30' really shows his talent with funky basslines, rim shots galore and a synth line that will drive you crazy insane. Buy it. And then buy the second one, it's fucking 'avin it as well. 8/10

FU2 'Out of Control'

Talking of the West Counrty, Devons finest, R.T.B. (Now residing in London), comes up trumps here with a fine chumk of Acid techno. Builds nicely to a driving climax! CL (9)

FU2 'Out of Control' /' RXG30'

New Label Alert 'FU2 Recordings' run by Biff from Exeter's Future Underground Nation. This is their first release and no messing about straight in with the 'Bastard'. 'Out of Control' is a slammin Acid techno romp with all the usual 303's, the flip ' RXG30' is a seriously dark minimal trancer.

Whats On South-West

FU2 'Out of Control' /' RXG30'

A Hard 4/4 Kickdrum and wailing acid line make for the usual London acid Mayham. The B-side, ' RXG30' uses a rising and falling synth riff, which gets severely squelched to produce a thoroughly mischevious sounding techno builder. Wickedly effective. (Tigger)****
