Cavern Club Co Owner Dave Goodchild has this to say about the Club:
The Cavern opened six years ago, primarily as a platform for live music. We've programmed bands from all over the world, including the likes of 3 Colours Red, Mansun, The Bluetones, Ocean Colour Scene, Roachford and Reef. Open six nights a week, the Cavern is also a showcase for some of the worlds finest djs, including Andrew Weatherall, Dj Die, Suv, Dom & Roland, Dazee, Digs & Woosh. Our regular Friday Drum & Bass night HARD EDGE has received national acclaim: "One of the best Drum & Bass shows in the country" (Knowledge Magazine). We're also the only place in the region you can see punk & hardcore bands, including the likes of Snuff, Quicksand, Spy Vs Spy and Samiam. LOCAL BANDS The past couple of years has witnessed the local music scene really take off. Muse and Appliance have both signed to big labels and there is a lot of interest in bands like Pop Vandals and Breastroke. Shimma have released a new single as have melodic punkers Annalise. On the dj front, our Hard Edge resident Cookie is about to release a single and tour the States.
