The Orb's Dr Alex Paterson
A welcome return to the Cavern for one of the pioneers of dance music The Orb's Dr Alex Paterson. After a year of waiting the proposed release date of Cydonia , the new Orb album, is November 2000 There will also be a single out 'Once More" featuring some hot remixes the release date will be around the time of the album. Alex has been busy DJ'ing around the world and with his project with Thomas Fehlmann, Le Petit Orb. Alex's DJ schedule has already seen him visit the USA, China, Japan and Mexico this year Le Petit Orb is a project conceived several years ago which gave Alex the opportunity to try out new sounds and music that he had been working on in the studio with a LPO show you can expect to hear some new Orb material but mixed up with non orb music. LPO and so is more an extension of Alex's DJ'ing with Thomas mixing it up with some scratching and FX. Le Petit Orb are appearing at the Dance Valley Festival in Amsterdam on August 5th moving on to Japan in October. Alex will be cutting down on his Djing in the autumn, as he will be needed for promo work on the album and will preparing to tour the full Orb Show at the beginning of next year. This date at the Cavern will be one of the last chances to hear Alex playing a DJ set in a club for quite a while.
